Call for Applications: Executive Director, Indigenous Music Office

The national Indigenous Music Office (IMO) is an emerging organization dedicated to building an Indigenous music ecosystem. In its beginning stages, the IMO will focus on building the Office, including community engagement/ relationship building in the industry, and advocating for Indigenous music sovereignty. A primary task in the first year will be to develop a plan to achieve the long-term mandate and new strategic plan.

The Governance Working Group established by the Indigenous Music Alliance is seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director of Indigenous Music Office. The position will be guided by a network of Indigenous and Industry Advisory Committees. The application process is open to all Indigenous people in Canada (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis).

The Executive Director (ED) of the Indigenous Music Office will provide strategic, creative, and operational direction for the entity. As it becomes established, the ED will have overall responsibility for development and investment decisions, overseeing the management of projects, team members and relationships.
