Bridget Melody is a Toronto based Indie/folk singer/songwriter and visual artist.

Armed with a distinctive vocal style and arsenal of material, Bridget captivates audiences with engaging songs that stir the soul, challenge the conscience and elevate the spirit.

Drawing from her Indigenous heritage - Mi'kmaq from her mother's lineage, an integral part of Bridget Melody’s artistry comes from her deep connection to land and spirit along with a consuming passion for truth and beauty.

In collaboration with Platinum status producer/arranger Chris Birkett and with support from the Ontario Arts Council, Bridget Melody released her debut album in March 2021 entitled, ‘Spirit Dance’ and without skipping a beat is now preparing to start work on a follow up album called ‘Spirit Song’. The inspiration for this collective body of work comes from the realization of a cry rising forth from the depths of our collective spirit to see love, truth, justice and redemption established in our society and land. These themes prevail throughout each song carrying a message of hope and inciting a call to action for the healing and restoration of humanity and nature.

Pre-Covid, Bridget was actively performing around town at various coffee houses and open stage venues, with regular performances at the Toronto Public Library for their ongoing series Urban Folk Art Salon which showcases local poets, songwriters and story-tellers.

Bridget has also made appearances on Radio shows such as The The ELMNT 106.5FM ~ The Spirit of Toronto, Tales from the Big Canoe 100.9FM, The Undiscovered Show on CIUT 89.5FM and on CJRU The Scope for a segment of Songtalk Radio as well as received airplay on numerous Community/Campus Stations across Canada and Internationally.

Most recently, Bridget received a glowing review from Roots Music Canada and was featured in the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance (IPAA) newsletter for their weekly artist spotlight.

Bridget is over the moon excited to be working in creative partnership with Chris Birkett who has produced and arranged award winning albums for the legendary Buffy Sainte Marie.
