Brandi Vezina is a Winnipeg singer/songwriter whose authentic country roots are intertwined with rock and the blues. She is a natural born performer who comes from a musical Metis family. Her biggest inspirations include Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and Miranda Lambert.
“Alberta Rose” is about a young woman coming home pregnant. “It was cathartic to write about my Mother’s experiences as a single parent,” says Vezina. “We all cried during the co-write and I know other women will be able to relate to this story.” Vezina teamed up with Albertans Liz Christensen and Sarah Elliot to write “Alberta Rose” and producer Murray Pulver to bring the song to life.
Vezina is collaborating with producers, Murray Pulver (CCMA award winner) and Randy Hiebert (lead guitar player for the Bellamy Brothers) on the EP with songs that also address her dating experiences, and encourage women to stand up for themselves in their personal and workplace relationships.
Danger is a warning to women in what warning signs to recognize in unhealthy relationships. The track features DJ and producer Boogey the Beat (The Sage is on Fire featuring Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Land Back with A Tribe Called Red), and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award winning producer, Murray Pulver.
